NEW YORK — Actors Amanda Seyfried and Thomas Sadoski have confirmed their separation after nine years of marriage. In a joint statement shared exclusively with People, the couple said they have been apart "for a while" and that the decision has proven right for their family.

"We have been separated for a while, and it’s proven to be the right move for us and our family unit. We’ve got each other forever — and it’s GOOD," Seyfried and Sadoski said.

A Quiet Family Life

The pair, who share daughter Nina, 9, and son Thomas Jr., 5, largely kept their personal life private. They first met in 2015 while starring together in the off-Broadway play The Way We Get By, later reunited on the film The Last Word, and eloped in 2017.

Seyfried, 40, and Sadoski, 50, raised their children primarily on a farm in upstate New York while maintaining homes in Los Angeles and Manhattan. The actress recently shared a lighthearted Instagram Story featuring Sadoski shortly before the news became public.

Amanda Seyfried and Thomas Sadoski confirm their separation after nine years, emphasizing they will remain connected as a family.

No further details on the reasons for the split were provided. Both continue to work in film and television.
