PARIS — Just days after closing his final chapter at Diesel in Milan, Glenn Martens returned to Paris with a co-ed Spring/Summer 2027 collection for Maison Margiela titled “Hard and Soft.”

The venue, L’Élysée Montmartre, was lined with walls of dried and wilting flowers, a direct homage to Raf Simons’ 2012 Dior couture debut (same florist, Mark Colle).

Hard Meets Soft on the Runway

Martens mixed structured tailoring with fluid draping. Trench coats carried hardened panels. Jackets folded inward so buttons disappeared. Dresses featured outward-curving panels that created a corset-like balcony without constriction. One standout was a white dress covered in crushed silverware.
